Temple Hill ESYP Scholars Create Solar Ovens
Scholars in Mrs. Dolfinger’s ESYP (Extended School Year Program) class at Temple Hill Academy, with TA's Ms. Shirley, Ms. Mulick, and Ms. Ponte, inquired into various forms of energy. The focus was on Solar Energy.
We asked the question: How can we use solar energy to cook?
First, we researched solar oven designs. Next, we sketched and brainstormed our ideas and solutions. Then we planned and created our ovens. Finally, we tested our solar ovens. We made chocolate chip cookies, Smores, and hot dogs. The results were delicious!
Standard: 4ESS3-1
I can identify and explain the various forms of energy, how energy moves, and how energy changes form.
