GAMS SEL Leadership Assembly: Responsibility
On Friday, October 7th, GAMS brought back its long awaited SEL Leadership Assembly reminding scholars that "THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT!". Student Ambassadors led the GAMS community through a spirited assembly showcasing student accomplishments, student learning, SEL programming and attendance. This particular assembly's theme was Responsibility and was hosted by 5th Grade Ambassadors, Quinn Kingsley, Mackenley Eloje, Joe Moreno, Molaisha Murphy, and Jostin Rodriquez. They were assisted by their co-host, School Counselor and assembly organizer, Mrs. Lofaro. Each of the MC's spoke a little about themselves, their favorite things, what makes them unique, and what being responsible means to them.
Music teacher, Ms. McCartney and her 3rd graders sang and raised the energy in the cafetorium with their Music Celebration.
Fourth graders shared a presentation on the Zones of Regulation alongside Ms. Metzger Horton.
Ms. Delacruz and Mr. Scully presented Student Leadership Nominations.
Ms. Spencer Smith honored the Custodial Team for keeping GAMS beautiful.
The GAMS staff supplied all the teachers and students with sunglasses as they shared their "Our Future's So Bright" presentation. Everyone in attendance got on their feet and began dancing. GAMS teachers made their way to the cafetorium stage and danced their way across.
Prior to the end of the assembly, the entire cafetorium lit up with anticipation as the theme music played for Early Bird's entrance. Early Bird danced his way into cheers and applause as he arrived to present the trophy for BEST Attendance Recognition. Ms. Deyos 5th grade class took the honors with a 90% attendance rate. The entire class was super excited for their victory and posed proudly with their newly earned trophy.
As the assembly came to a close, the scholars cheered and danced along with some of their teachers as music played throughout the cafetorium.
See you November 10th for the next awesome SEL Leadership Assembly!
