Land to Learn at Horizons-on-the-Hudson
Land to Learn features lessons rooted in gardening, food, community, health, and ecology. Their learner-centered approach fosters understanding and agency within youth in schools, residential centers, virtual classrooms, and other educational settings.
On Friday, October 21st, Horizons 1st graders in Mrs. Dicola and Mrs. Rein’s class learned about the different critters that can be found in the soil. The young scholars went exploring to see what they could find. Many of the students also had their first experience with kale that is growing in the garden.
