Gardnertown Leadership Academy Students Learn about Inventors and Helpers
Mrs. Lawler and Mrs. SanSevero's Pre-K class at Gardnertown Leadership Academy completed their 2023 Black History Month Project. This year's theme was "Inventors and Helpers". The culminating project was in cooperation with Mrs. Silver Kulisek, an ELA teacher at NFA, whose son Trevor is a Gardnertown student. Mrs. Kulisek and Trevor read the book, "Saving the Day: Garrett Morgan's Life-Changing Invention of the Traffic Signal". Following the reading and discussion about how Mr. Morgan always believed in himself, the students each crafted their own traffic light. Trevor also created a paragraph about Mr. Morgan which was displayed in the main lobby at Gardnertown.
