School Social Worker Week (March 5- 11, 2023)
This week of March 5th to March 11th, we celebrate our NECSD School Social Workers for National School Social Work Week! The theme chosen by the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) for National School Social Work Week 2023 is “We Rise.”
There are 21 School Social Workers who work throughout our district in collaboration with our teachers, administrators, school counselors, and school psychologists to support the emotional health and learning of all of our scholars! During the school year, School Social Workers are confronted with challenges, heightened anxieties, and anticipated difficulties. However, School Social Workers face these challenges with strength and resilience. School Social Workers rise up – supporting their students, families, and school communities. School Social Workers rise to share hope. They rise to listen and understand. They rise to challenge inequities. They rise to support all students.
ATTENTION: Are your scholars or colleagues doing something great? Please contact the district Communications Team at communications@necsd.net. We’d love to visit your class or event and/or post your pictures and recap to highlight the amazing accomplishments throughout our district!
