Temple Hill Academy Students Study Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic Writing
At Temple Hill Academy, Mrs. Crofton's 6th Grade Social Studies students studied Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic writing. After learning about the arduous training for scribes, students wrote their names in Hieroglyphics on faux papyrus in the style found on temple walls. As students have learned about the important contribution of writing and record keeping of each ancient civilization, they have written their names in the ancient style. So far we have written our names in Egyptian Hieroglyphics on faux papyrus, Mesopotamian Cuneiform on faux clay tablets, and Chinese Characters on faux scrolls!
