Chromebook/HotSpot Collection for K-8 Scholars | 2022-2023

Dear NECSD parents and guardians,
Below, please find the plan for collecting Chromebooks, Hotspots, and summer device access. This plan has been developed in collaboration with stakeholder groups that included teachers, administration, and parents to work collaboratively to develop a cohesive plan.

Kindergarten through 8 |
All Chromebooks currently assigned to students in Kindergarten through grade 8 will be collected at the end of the school year. Schools will communicate the specific dates for this collection. Please send device chargers to be turned in with the Chromebooks. |
Grade 9-11 |
Students in grades 9-11 should keep their assigned Chromebook and charger over the summer and bring them to school on the first day of the fall. Please do not keep the Chromebook plugged in all summer, as this may damage the battery causing it not to maintain a charge in the fall. |
Seniors (Grade 12) |
All NFA seniors must return their school-issued Chromebooks, chargers, and hotspots to their school building before graduation. There will also be a drop-off station during Cap and Gown distribution. |
Hotspots | All hotspots will be automatically disabled on June 25th and must be turned in at the end of the school year. If you need a Hotspot for your child, please submit a student helpdesk ticket.
Summer Access | All students in ESYP programs will have access to a Chromebook. If there is a need, please complete a Helpdesk ticket that can be found on the Technology section of the district website.
Fall 2023 Chromebook Program | The increase in the need for Instructional Technology requires access to Chromebooks for instruction daily. We must collect all devices to service and inventory to prepare for the 2023-2024 school year. We do not want to limit access and request that if parents of students in grades K- 8 want to sign out a Chromebook for at-home use over the summer, please complete this form. We are asking that you complete this form by June 30, 2023. Please note if there is a device loss or damage, there will be a fee charged to replace or restore the Chromebook, as shared with you in September 2022. Thank you for your continued support.
