21st Century After School Program - Field Trip Fun with Students from GAMS and Balmville!
K-2 Students, family members, and staff from GAMS and Balmville participated in a Family Fun Field Trip to Locust Grove Estates where they had hands on fun learning together about science Common Core standards revolving around simple machines. See a photo recap of the trip!
The 21st Century Afterschool Academy is an afterschool program where students can get homework help and tutoring along with enrichment activities that include but are not limited to chess, STEAM Project Based Learning, and the Arts provided by Newburgh Performing Arts Academy. Families will also have an opportunity to participate in Family Fun trips, Parent University events, and participate in the Program Advisory Council Team (PACT).
The program will be held at the student's school (Balmville, GAMS, Gardnertown, and Horizons students are eligible) for 2 hours a day three days a week Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from November 14, 2017-June 7, 2018. Students must participate all three days. Nutritious snacks and transportation to the designated drop off site will be provided by the district. A family member or family representative must attend the program orientation at your student's school.
