NFA Student Athletes Read to Temple Hill Scholars
On Wednesday, October 4th, student athletes from the Newburgh Free Academy Cross Country team visited Temple Hill Academy to read books to their younger peers. The team visited multiple classrooms with each class more engaged than the next. The younger students seem to really enjoy the reading by the high school athletes. They asked great follow up questions and provided their takes on the story. Some of the Temple Hill students were in awe of the fact that their guest readers are 17 years old.
The Cross Country team coach, Chris Marino invited the younger scholars to learn more about cross country sports. He gave them encouraging words and reminded them of the importance of being great students so they are able to participate in athletics.
