Students Celebrate the Season at Board of Education Meeting
Students of all ages showcased their talents at the Board of Education meeting held this week.
Students from Fostertown's Dual Language program performed a song in both English and Spanish. Prior to the performance, the students introduced their performance in both English and Spanish. Students were led by their teachers Ms. Yinette Mercado and Ms. Jaylen Martinez and were joined by building principal and assistance principal Dr. Isabela Carias-Vazquez and Ms. Shaneequa Cameron and Director of Language Acquistions Dr. Chastity Martinez-Morales.
Members of the Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus Wind Ensemble and Concert Band played a selection of winter and holiday music, under the direction of Mrs. Kristina Morano.
Director of Fine and Performing Arts, Mrs. Kristen Johnsen recognized art students who participated in the 10th annual holiday card contest, welcoming the top selections for each grade band.
NFA Culinary students baked and decorated dozens of cookies and offered hot chocolate to those in attendance at the meeting.
