NFA North Nurse Aid Scholars Hosting Heart Heathly Awareness Clinics
February is National Heart Health Awareness Month!
Our Health Science Pathway Students will be providing education and health awareness activities for faculty, staff, and students throughout the month.
Please mark your calendars for the following events:
Friday, February 16th, "Hands-Only CPR and Using the AED" - Join our 3rd-year Health Science Pathway students (seniors) as they provide demonstrations throughout the day and educate our school community on these life-saving skills
Wednesday, February 28th, "NFA North Blood Drive" - New York Blood Services will be on-site to take your blood donation aka "the gift of life". Our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year Health Science Pathway Captains will be working with all health science blood team members to keep you comfortable, well-hydrated, and safe throughout your donation visit. We hope that you will consider donating. About every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. A single blood donation can save up to 3 lives.

Thursday, February 29th, "Healthy Heart POP UP Blood Pressure Clinic"- Our 3rd-year Health Science Pathway students (seniors) will provide education to our school community about hypertension and the risks of heart disease. The students will be ready to check your blood pressure and answer any questions you may have about heart disease and high blood pressure. Join us for this very important wellness check!
Friday, March 1st, "Healthy Heart Blood Pressure Clinic and Wellness Education- Join our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year Health Science Pathway students (10th, 11th, and 12th grades) in their student-led "Healthy Heart Clinic. Health Science students will guide our faculty, staff, and students through the clinic as they have their blood pressure checked, and receive health information on heart health, diabetes, nutrition, vaping health risks, smoking health risks, marijuana use health risks, and more! Students are welcome with their teachers. Teachers, you are welcome to bring your classes, however, we ask that you make an appointment by emailing Mrs. Romano and Dr. Stacy.
