A musical set In 1960s Baltimore, where dance-loving teen Tracy Turnblad auditions for a spot on "The Corny Collins Show '' and wins! She becomes an overnight celebrity and uses her new status to topple WZZT's reigning mother-daughter, producer-star duo, bringing racial integration to the show.
