Horizon-on-the-Hudson Hosts Second Literacy/Math Night
Horizon-on-the-Hudson hosted their second Literacy/Math Night. Teachers in collaboration with students from Mount St. Mary’s College set up learning activities for the students. The Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team and the Registration Department were in attendance to support the event. Parents were given strategies on how to help their children with literacy and math at home.
Students and families moved through stations that centered around a variety of skills and strategies in both Math and Literacy. Students participated in games, dramatic play and a scavenger hunt amongst other activities. At the conclusion of the event students were given grade level appropriate materials and games to take home with them in order to support learning. Special thank you to Dr. Sonya Abbye Taylor and her students for this contribution and the continued partnership.
