Twelve Music Students Participate in OCMEA Junior High All County Music Festival
Twelve music students from NFA Main, South Middle, Heritage Middle and Meadow Hill Schools participated in the Orange County Music Educators Association (OCMEA) Junior High All County Music Festival at Monroe Woodbury High School.
The criteria for acceptance into the honors level chorus, orchestra, and band, was for our students to prepare and perform high-level musical excerpts from orchestral and choral literature for an accredited adjudicator. Their results were compared with other music students (grades 7-9) from Orange County.
During the festival weekend, our students had an incredible learning experience under the tutelage of the guest conductors, performed amazing pieces of music, forged new friendships with students from other schools in the county and made lifelong memories with their friends and teachers.
The NECSD music teachers extend their sincere thanks to all the teachers who worked tirelessly to prepare the students, the parents for their continued support of their children’s music education and the NECSD administration for recognizing the importance and high standard we aspire to for our music students and programs.
