Heritage Middle School Scholars Create Mindfulness Mandalas
Students in Ms. McCarthy's class at Heritage practiced mindfulness by creating these mandalas with items from nature such as sunflower seeds, wildflower seeds, cornmeal, branches and leaves. Students were able to work outside and in teams. Tibetan, Indian and Native American sand and flower paintings were the inspiration. The project allowed students to find a calm state of mind while working with materials that are environmentally friendly.
Story provided by Ms. McCarthy.
