Temple Hill Scholars Compete in “Battle of the Sports”
As a culminating activity, for the ARC Core Unit 4 “Sports in Society,” Temple Hill Academy’s fourth graders participated in a “Battle of the Sports” competition. They competed in five events to see who would be deemed the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time). The events were 100-meter Sprint, Soccer Shootout, Football Toss, Wheelbarrow Race, and Around the World Basketball. The students performed to the best of their abilities while practicing sportsmanship and having fun. The first-place winners of each event, from each classroom, then participated in a championship round. The winners received bronze, silver, and gold medals for their accomplishments. It was a joy for their teachers to watch the smiles on their faces and witness students excel in areas other than academics. The student placed as follows:
