Meadow Hill Holds Annual "Senior" Senior Prom
Meadow Hill School students and staff hosted a prom for local senior citizen community residents. Food, decorations, a DJ and transportation were all generously donated by school personnel, community members, local businesses and the town’s recreation department in an effort to support the school’s initiative to continue to give back to the community.
Students and staff members generously volunteered their time during this community service event in an effort to continue to make a difference in the lives of others. Meadow Hill makes a conscious and dedicated effort each year to provide community service opportunities for its students. Student participants included members of the National Junior Honor Society, Student Government Committee, the Girls’ Modified Softball team, the Modified Boys’ Lacrosse team, the Modified Boys’ Wrestling team and the Modified Volleyball team, as well as other enthusiastic Meadow Hill GEMS participants.
Through the collaborative effort of all, over 100 senior citizens were able to enjoy a fun filled Mardis Gras themed evening of dinner and dancing.
A special thanks to the following individuals and organizations for their contributions toward the evening’s festivities: Stop & Shop, Rhodes Funeral Home, Pepsi Cola, Stewart’s Shop, Sam’s Club, Noto’s Deli, BJ’s, Yvondra Sims-Bruce, Mr. Jim Jilliams, Mr. Wenzel and the Town of Newburgh Recreation Department.
