Moving Up Ceremony | South Middle School

Congratulations to our South Middle School scholars as they move on to high school. South Middle School's Moving Up Ceremony was relocated to Ebenezer Baptist Church at the last minute as a result of a broken air conditioning system at Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus.

"I am thankful for the quick thinking of multiple members of my executive team and administrative staff along with building and district administrators who brainstormed locations and reached out to contacts who could accommodate the size of our celebration. Thankfully, Ebenezer Baptist Church in Newburgh was able to quickly arrange to welcome our ceremony," shared Dr. Jackielyn Manning Campbell, Superintendent of Schools, adding "Re-arranging more than 1,100 people from one location to another in approximately two hours is no small feat. We know the situation was not ideal, however, the quick thinking, collaboration, and community connections of our team are a testament to the kind of educational system we continue to strive for in our district."
