NFA Scholar Honored with NYS Senate 2024 Youth Leadership Recognition Award
Newburgh Free Academy scholar Conor Smith was presented with a prestigious 2024 Youth Leadership Recognition Award by Senator Rob Rolison this spring. The New York State Senate’s Youth Leadership Recognition Award program honors outstanding students who will become our future leaders. Eligible students include current sophomores, juniors, and seniors who excel not only academically, but through leadership in extracurricular and volunteer activities.
Conor is a member of the Junior Varsity Baseball team, plays on a travel ice hockey team at West Point, and is a cadet in NFA's AFJ-ROTC program. Looking ahead, Conor hopes to attend West Point in the future and plans to be a civil engineer.
Conor was joined for photos by his mother, Emily Greaven, NFA Co-Principal, Ms. Susan Valentino, and NECSD Superintendent, Dr. Jackielyn Manning Campbell.
