Gardnertown Scholars Collaborate with Local Artists to Create Meaningful Mural
Gardnertown Leadership Academy collaborated with local artist, Joe Pimentel, to create a mural to represent the values of their school. Students were given word prompts and asked to design pieces of the mural based on their interpretation of the meaningful words. With the theme of Gardnertown Leadership Academy (GLA) where we Grow, Lead, and Achieve, students were asked to draw what the following words mean to them and how they are connected to the school community: Responsible, Respectful, Kind, Integrity, Perseverance, Teamwork, Empath, Courage, Creativity, Gratitude, Leadership, Fairness.
The following students had their artwork selected to be an integral part of the mural:
Students, faculty, and staff each took turns contributing to the painting of the wall as well. Local artist Joe Pimentel has created murals at Meadow Hill School and plans to return in December to collaborate with students for another project in our schools.
