The NY GEAR UP After School Academy will begin Tuesday, February 4th for NFA Main students at NFA Main Campus and Thursday, February 6th for West and North students at NFA North Campus

NY GEAR UP will be offering an after school experience beginning in February 2025 for ALL 9th grade students regardless of race, gender, or economic status. All 9th grade scholars are encouraged to apply and actively participate. The program will be held at NFA Main and North Campuses. (NFA West Students who participate will be bussed to NFA North.

NY GEAR UP After School will provide your students opportunities for tutoring and homework assistance, Regents Prep, academic/mental health counseling and support, and mentoring. The program offers scholars the opportunity to work with and talk to teachers and peers in a small group setting. The program is for all 9th grade scholars. The after school program will afford your child an opportunity to improve their academic standing all while earning other opportunities that GEAR UP will offer in the future.

NY GEAR UP After School will be held for 2 hours every Tuesday and Thursday. There also may be opportunities for programs on Saturdays.

Transportation will be available for scholars participating in the NY GEAR UP After School Program. The start date is Tuesday, February 4th. If this date changes, information will be provided as soon as possible.  

In-person programs will begin immediately after regular dismissal time and an after-school snack will be available.

The application for the  NY GEAR UP After-School Program includes demographic information, information regarding policies and procedures, including selection policy, attendance policy, transportation information, behavior and discipline policies; and anticipated program offerings at each high school. There also may be field trips and guest speakers offered through the program.

NY GEAR UP After School les brindará a sus estudiantes oportunidades de tutoría y ayuda con las tareas, preparación para Regents, asesoramiento y apoyo académico/de salud mental y tutoría.
