National School Counseling Week
National School Counseling Week is celebrated each year in the first week of February. Below, find a message that was sent to our School Counselor celebrating their dedication and professionalism in supporting every Goldback, every day! We welcome our community to recognize our School Counselors who have had a positive impact on their lives!
Dear Newburgh School Counseling Team,
This week, as we celebrate School Counselors Week, we want to express our deepest gratitude for the incredible work you do every single day. Your role is more than a job—it’s a commitment to the students, families, and communities of Newburgh we serve.
You listen when students feel unheard, guide them when they feel lost, and empower them when they doubt themselves. You see the potential in every child, even when they can’t see it in themselves. Your dedication to emotional well-being, academic success, and personal growth is the lifeblood of students in Newburgh.
Our new challenges are immense, yet you meet them with compassion, patience, and resilience. You navigate complex situations, advocate for students’ needs, and create safe spaces where they can thrive.
This week, we celebrate YOU—the countless hours spent planning, counseling, checking regents scores, being that ear to students, and ensuring every Goldback has an opportunity to step into the future they want. We celebrate the smiles you bring to students’ faces when they first learn about careers and Zones of Regulation in elementary school and when they learn they will graduate sitting in your office, the hope you instill in their hearts, the tears you wipe, and the futures you help craft to show student there's more than one way to success. Your impact is immeasurable, and your work is truly life-changing.
Thank you for your unwavering dedication and relentless commitment to helping students succeed. You are appreciated, valued, and celebrated not just this week but every day.
With our respect and thanks,
The Newburgh Enlarged City School District
