Future Filmmakers in NFA's Award Winning Video Production Program Document Past CVR Team

Declan Welling and Victor Martinez are future filmmakers in NFA's Award Winning Video Production Program. They have created this short documentary about the Concept Vehicle Race (CVR) Team. During its relatively brief history, the CVR Team competed against other teams from all over the world in the Annual Shell Eco-Marathon. This incredible team was truly multidisciplinary as students from automotive technology to welding to video production, among other classes, participated. Declan and Victor sat down with some of the advisors to take a look back at this unique and truly amazing club.

In 2017, NFA CVRT was one of only 3 teams selected from 114 teams from North, Central, and South Americas to advance from the competition in Detroit, MI. to the competition finals in England. The Newburgh Free Academy Concept Vehicle Racing Team (NFA CVRT) earned 3rd place at the 2017 Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) Drivers World Championship of the Americas on April 30, 2017 in Detroit, Michigan. The 3rd place finish qualified NFA CVRT to represent the United States in the second annual 2017 SEM Drivers World Championship that was held in London. In 2018, the NFA CVRT placed 7th in a National Competition held in California.
