NFA P-TECH Scholars Deliver Speeches about Historical Newburgh Topics; Featured in the News
NFA P-TECH scholars delivered a series of speeches highlighting significant figures and topics that have impacted our city. The event featured between ten and thirteen short speeches about topics impacting our city's past and present, ranging from the Battle of Newburgh to gentrification and street art.
News12 interviewed Zoe McLymore, Erik Palmas, and Zhianna Nevarez about their experience with the project. Their story can be found below as well as Zoe McLymore's speech about George Alsdorf, his son DuBois, and their family's impact on Newburgh, which was featured during the Board of Education's celebration of Black History Month events that occurred throughout our district.
