NFA Varsity Crew Team hosted the 6th Annual Greater Hudson Valley Indoor Rowing Championship
The NFA Varsity Crew Team hosted the 6th Annual Greater Hudson Valley Indoor Rowing Championship, bringing 350 athletes from Arlington, Warwick, Wappingers, FDR, Clarkstown, Kingston, Spackenkill, Cortlandt, Rhinebeck, and North Rockland schools together for a day of 2-kilometer erg races.
Senior Captain Charlotte "Charlie Perry" placed 2nd overall in her 11/12th grade event, taking home a silver medal, and Sophomore Captain Karli Smith placed 1st in her 9/10th grade event, taking home a gold!
The team has been completing pre-season practice weekends since January. This first official event of the season gives Hudson Valley Rowing League members the opportunity to compete prior to the good weather needed to get on the water; once the temperature rises, the Newburgh team practices on Orange Lake and races predominantly on the Hudson River.
The next event is the WARS Regatta on Rockland Lake on the 26th of April. Go Goldbacks!
