Calendar Reminder | October & November 2025

This is a friendly reminder that the district has a half-day for all students on Friday, October 31st. Many municipalities have time curfews for children under the age of 18 in place for this weekend. Please be proactive in understanding the information where you and your child live.
On November 4th and 5th, there are half-days of school, depending on which school your child attends. Below, we have explained the half-days by school level/type.
MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL Buildings
Tier 1 - Heritage Middle, NFA Main, NFA North, NFA West, and South Middle will dismiss at 10:15 AM on a 1/2 day schedule
Friday, October 31st | 1/2 Day All Students; 1/2 Day Staff Development (1/2 day dismissal schedule)
Tuesday, November 4th | 1/2 Day students middle and high school students only; 1/2 Day Staff Development (1/2 day dismissal schedule)
Wednesday, November 5th | Full day of school for middle and high school students
Dismissal times are approximate. Instructions provided by the individual school buildings should be followed. All students in grades Pre-K-2 and those who ride special transportation must be met by a responsible person (at least middle school or over) to be released from their school bus.
ELEMENTARY & K-8 Buildings
Tier 2 - GAMS, Meadow Hill, Temple Hill and Vails Gate STEAM Academy dismiss at 11:15 AM on a 1/2 day schedule
Tier 3 - Balmville, Fostertown, Gardnertown, Horizons, New Windsor, and Pre-K @ GAMS dismiss at 12:15 PM on a 1/2 day schedule

*The half-day of school is for the tier that is listed only. All students in the tiers that are not listed will have a full day of school. (November 4th - full day of school for Tiers 2 & 3 schools. November 5th - full day of school for Tier 1 schools).
2025-2026 District Calendar Update
Updates to the 2025-2026 Single Page District Calendar were approved on September 3, 2025 by the Board of Education. This calendar is approved by the Board of Education and includes the district schedule (half-days, closings, supt. conference days, etc.), it does not include school events. A note of the changes can be found below for reference.
Due to the change, printing of wall and desk calendars has been delayed. In the interim, the October and November pages of the calendar can be found by clicking the links in the month's title.
Once printed, one wall calendar will be distributed to each family in the fall. Families that would like to request an additional calendar should reach out to their child's school directly. Community members who would like to request a calendar should email Communications@necsd.net.
Desk calendars for staff will be sent directly to schools that have ordered them.
Add important school and district dates, including letter days, to your personal calendar by following these instructions.
