Heritage Middle School Scholars Welcome United States Military Academy Cadet
Ms. Coopersmith's class was excited to welcome a United States Military Academy cadet to their classroom. Cadet Mellon told them what it is like to attend West Point, and be in the United States Army. He allowed them to try on some of his gear. He showed them other apparatus and explained what they are used for. He also taught them about camouflage paint and showed them the proper way to apply it, by modeling it on two students. Cadet Mellon played videos that depicted what a day at West Point may look like for a cadet. A highlight of the visit was watching Cadet Mellon heat up MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) and then getting to taste them. The students liked them better than Cadet Mellon does!
