Passing the Torch | NFA Legends Unite as TT Burden Makes History
Home for the holidays, NFA alumna Leah Truncale stopped by Girls Varsity Basketball practice this morning to celebrate a historic moment for the program. Truncale congratulated Terri’nashjae “TT” Burden, who recently became the all-time leading scorer in NFA Girls Basketball history with 1,544 career points. Truncale previously held the record for 27 years, finishing her career with 1,525 points in 1998.
Also in attendance was Oneisha Staples, who ranks third on the all-time scoring list with 1,010 points (2001), making the moment a powerful gathering of past and present NFA greats.

Varsity head coach Matthew Greenbaum emphasized how rare and meaningful these milestones are, noting the challenges student-athletes face both on and off the court, as well as the decades that often separate record-breaking performances.
With the girls’ scoring record now hers, TT Burden has her sights set on an even greater achievement: the all-time NFA basketball scoring record—boys or girls—a mark that has stood since 1955, set by Mickey Burkoski. Follow along as TT strives for history! The NFA Varsity Girls Basketball schedule can be found by clicking this link.
The Goldbacks’ next home game is January 15, 2026, giving TT plenty of opportunity to chase history on the road as she continues her remarkable season.
