45 Excelsior Students Skip Spring Recess!

Did you know that some of our students chose to skip Spring Recess?!

Approximately 45 students travel to SUNY Orange each week to take college courses. When our school breaks don't match up - these students still show up! Sometimes that is the dedication it takes!

17 of our scholars are walking with their associates degree from SUNY Orange in May & graduating from Newburgh Free Academy in June! Their degrees will be in Cybersecurity or computer networking. Their commitment is saving time and money as these students continue to work toward their ultimate goals!

PTECH Excelsior Academy at Newburgh Free Academy, North Campus has partnerships with SUNY Orange and IBM. Students primarily focus on cyber security and computer networking. Each year, a cohort of 50 students are accepted to the program through a lottery system. Students are able to complete their associates degree by the time of their high school graduation and can participate in paid internships from IBM through the program. Excelsior Academy also entails a strong mentoring program with professionals working in PTECH fields.
