NECSD Students Turn College Expo Into Real Opportunities!
On Saturday, September 19th, 40 NECSD students attended the Black College Expo™, a national college-access event that connects students with colleges and universities, scholarship opportunities, and valuable resources to support their post-secondary journeys.
The experience proved especially rewarding for five NECSD students, who received college acceptances on the spot! Three students were accepted to Long Island University (LIU) Brooklyn, while one student was accepted to Alcorn State University and another to Allen University.
The Black College Expo™ brings together more than 200 colleges and universities, including HBCUs, public and private institutions, and other higher education programs. Students have the opportunity to meet directly with college representatives, explore scholarships, learn about admissions, and access resources related to careers, internships, and financial aid.
For NECSD students, the event was more than a college fair—it was an opportunity to turn aspirations into action. Congratulations to our five students on their college acceptances and to all 40 students who took an important step toward their futures!
