Universal Pre-K Celebrates The Week of the Young Child!
The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. This year's national recognition is April 16–20, 2018! The Newburgh Enlarged City School District commenced this week throughout its Universal Pre-K program. Promoting literacy and in honor of this week, Dr. Padilla, Superintendent visits and reads to all of Pre-K at Horizons on the Hudson School. He read "The Giving Tree". Pre-K at Gidney Avenue Memorial School hosted a musical parade through the halls of their classrooms. Through music, children develop math, language, and literacy skills - all while having fun and being active! See a photo recap here.
