Instant College Admissions Series at NFA Saves and Awards Money for Scholars
The objective of the 2017-2018 Instant College Admissions Series at Newburgh Free Academy is to reduce financial and logistical barriers to higher education by waiving the application fees for college and by bringing the college admissions counselors to our students. The program kept our values of equity, diversity, and inclusion in focus throughout the year.
In addition to the below colleges hosting instant admission days, there was a special event with the Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America in addition to interviewing students for admissions, also had one of their chefs present a cooking demo to the NFA Culinary students.
- 259 students submitted 1 or more application.
- 229 students were accepted into one or more of these colleges!
- Our students saved $7,580 in college application fees!
- Our scholars were awarded $4,660,740 in merit scholarship!
