Mr. Matteo Doddo, co-principal of Newburgh Free Academy and an NFA alumnus, reached out to the faculty, staff, and administration of NFA with a thought of donating meals to workers at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital. Mr. Doddo suggested a donation of $5 or whatever amount desired, so the three high school campuses could show their appreciation during this public health crisis. Within 2 hours, the NFA faculty, staff and administration overwhelmingly responded and raised $1,000. Over the next 48 hours, well over $3,300 was raised.

Last night, Mr. Doddo and fellow alumnus, NECSD Superintendent Dr. Roberto Padilla purchased 160 meals from Vesuvio’s Ristorante and donated them to the night shift at MSLCH.

Kate Dabroski, Vice President of Marketing, Public and Community Relations for MSLCH shared that each unit of the hospital would receive meals from this donation.

Vesuvio’s is owned and operated by Pete and Concetta Cracolici, an NFA grad and a teacher at South Middle School, respectively.

The NFA community is proud to support the medical community as they are the true heroes during these trying times.
