Advanced Placement (AP) Exams Free for NFA Scholars
The Newburgh Enlarged City School District is happy to announce that we will be covering the full cost of Advance Placement (AP) Exams for ALL scholars who wish to sit for the AP exams this 21-22 school year. This means that all AP exams are now free for students and families! We will NOT be sending out invoices to any scholars this year since your costs have been covered on behalf of our school district. We recognize that the COVID-19 Pandemic has created economic hardships for many of our families. In an effort to promote equity and access to rigorous academic experiences for ALL scholars, we believe it necessary to remove any financial barriers that might discourage someone from participating in Advance Placement Exams this school year.
If you have not already registered for your AP Exams and wish to do so now that exams are being offered for free, you will have until the end of this month on 10/31 to complete your exam registration. Registering for the AP exam can be done by logging in to College Board at https://myap.collegeboard. org/ and inputting the join code provided by your AP Teacher, then marking "YES" with your intent to take the exam. As a reminder, any scholars who choose NOT to take the AP Exam, should make sure you have a parent/guardian sign this attached Course Weight Acknowledgement Form and return the form to your school guidance counselor once complete. This form confirms that you understand if you choose not to take the exam, you will have your course average weight reduced from a 1.05 to a 1.03.
ATTENTION: Are your scholars or colleagues doing something great? Please contact the district Communications Team at communications@necsd.net. We’d love to visit your class or event and/or post your pictures and recap to highlight the amazing accomplishments throughout our district!
