High School Selection Information for Current 8th Grade Scholars

Hello Goldbacks! 

It's time for current Grade 8 students to make a selection for high school! The Newburgh Enlarged City School District currently has two High School campus options, Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus and North Campus, with three special programs to apply for if interested. As a reminder, High School Selection Tour information can be found here. Additional information about the schools and their various programs can be found at our NECSD website newburghschools.org. 

School selection will take place utilizing a Parent Portal Survey. If you do not have a Parent Portal account set up, you will need to create one. The Infinite Campus Parent Portal Application can be accessed here: Parent/Student Portal Infinite Campus or downloaded free from the app store. Tutorial videos are available at Parent/Student Portal Infinite Campus | En español select the tab that best fits your needs. Once activated you will have access to the Survey for your child when the survey opens on January 2, 2024. If you currently have an active Parent Portal, you will only need to follow the process below to complete the Survey. If you have difficulty accessing your Parent Portal and/or need a password reset, you may send an email to newburghportal@necsd.net for assistance. 

The Survey for high school selection will only be available January 2, 2024 through February 25, 2024. A selection of NFA Main Campus or NFA North Campus must be made. If your child is interested in PTECH, Marist or NFA West Campus programming, there is a required supplemental application process that must be completed after you've completed your campus selection through the survey. Those applications are due to the respective program administrator no later than March 8, 2023. Supplemental applications can be found here: Marist ECHS | NFA P-TECH  | NFA West

Important: 

• You must choose either NFA Main Campus or NFA North Campus.  
• If you do not make a selection, your child will be put into the general selection process.
• Any required specialized programming for your child, may impact the school assignment (i.e.: IEP, etc.)

• You will receive the results (via USPS mail and on your Parent Portal account) of the selection in April, 2024. 

CURRENT NECSD student with Activated Parent Portal Account:

• Log in to your Parent Portal
• Go to Message Center
• Select Survey Option
• Fill out all areas of the survey

CURRENT NECSD student without Activated Parent Portal Account:

• Activate your Parent Portal account using your personalized key. Personalized keys were sent to 8th grade families at the end of December.
• Once you activate your Parent Portal Account, follow the steps below to complete your Selection:
• Log in to your Parent Portal
• Go to Message Center
• Select Survey Option
• Fill out all areas of the survey

Register your child by visiting NewburghSchools.org/Registration and follow the directions that best fit your needs.
